Deep Clean vs. Standard Clean: Which Do You Need?

Booking a standard clean when you need a deep clean is the most common reason a first visit disappoints. The difference is scope, not effort.

Standard clean

Maintenance work on surfaces you use daily: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, kitchen counters and appliance exteriors, bathrooms, trash and beds. It assumes the home has been cleaned recently and keeps it that way.

Deep clean

Restoration work that removes accumulated build-up. It adds baseboards, door frames, vents, light fixtures, inside appliances, grout, hard-water deposits, blinds and detail work behind furniture. It takes roughly two to three times as long.

How to choose

Book a deep clean if any of these are true.

  • It has been more than three months since a professional clean
  • You are moving in or out
  • There is visible build-up in grout, on baseboards or around fixtures
  • Someone in the home has allergies or asthma
  • It is your first service with a new cleaning company

The usual rhythm

Most clients start with one deep clean, then hold that result with recurring standard visits and a deep clean once or twice a year.
